Chris Gay

We offer private lessons and training programs from quality instructors like Chris Gay who played at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton. His Senior year he went 12 and 1 with a 0.67 E.R.A., was named the Districts M.V.P. and also hit .387 with 6 home runs. Chris then pitched at the University of Texas at Arlington and won 10 games his Senior year, was named The Southland Conferences Pitcher of the year and was named to the First Team All Regional team before being drafted by The Chicago White Sox. Chris Spent 2 and 1/2 seaons with the White Sox where he got as high as double A. In 1993 he was 7-2 with a 1 .69 E.R.A. in The Gulf Coast League. He started Cover All Bases in 1998 and has giving lessons and coached the Arlington Heat for the past ten seasons. His reputation in the area is one of good moral standings and truly loves teaching baseball to kids. Chris resides in Mansfield with his wife Kim and three kids, Kristen 10, Christopher 8, and Kaitlyn 4.

Mark Flatten

Mark, who is also the Volunteer Assistant at UTA has compiled an impressive resume. Prior to coaching at UTA, Mark was an Assistant Coach for the Plano Blue Sox of the TCL. Before coming to Texas Mark was a high school Head Coach in Southern California. While there he compiled a 102-61 record in six seasons. Prior to his stint in California, Coach Flatten was an assistant coach at the University of Missouri, where he worked with middle infielders, outfielders and hitters. While there, the Tigers played in two Big 12 Conference tournaments, and he coached six all-conference performers. During the previous three summers, Flatten was a part of the Trombly Braves 18 and under team which won the Orange County Connine Mack League, the California State Championship, the Western Regional and finished as the runner up in the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, New Mexico. Coach Flatten currently resides in Arlington with his wife Amanda.

Jason Stein
|
Jason became the Vision Trainer for the Cleveland Indians in 2007, where he works with hitters at every level of the organization, including many of the major leaguers. He played baseball in high school and college as an infielder at Rockledge HS in Rockledge, Florida, and the Richland College in Dallas. In 1998, Jason chose a different route in Professional Baseball and attended the Brinkman Umpire School in Cocoa, Florida. He then worked in the Minor leagues as an umpire where he worked in many of the leagues including three All-Star Games, three Championship Series and the 2006 Futures Game as part of All-Star week in Pittsburgh. As kids Jason grew up around the game as the son of a former major league player and minor league Manager and coach. Instead of playing summer ball he would travel around with the minor league teams on busses and take batting practice and infield everyday like he was one of the players. Jason will be here throughout the off-season and a couple weeks during the season. He now lives with his wife Kristin and their 10 year old daughter Payton in Fort Worth.

Chris Oldham

Chris Oldham graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado. While there he was named to the All-Conference Team and 1st Team All-State with a 36-6 career record. He then played for Oral Roberts University in '87, setting an ORU team record with 22 scoreles innings in a row. Chris then transferred to Crowder Community College in '88 and '89, finishing his career at Central Missouri State in '90 and '91. He was named to the All-Conference Team and All-Region Team in '91 and participated in the Divisoin II World Series. Chris began doing lessons at Cover All Bases in 2003 after running the Triple Crown of Texas for two years.

Kelley Gulledge
|
Kelley Gulledge was a USA Today High School All-American at Mansfield High School and was named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's player of the year in 1997. Kelley left Mansfield as the Tiger's all-time career home run, hits and RBI leader. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1997 draft, but decided to attend the University of Alabama. At Alabame he was twice named the SEC's All-Tournament catcher. In 1999, he hit .344 with 11 home runs for the Crimson Tide and played in the College World Series. Kelley was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round of the 2000 draft. He spent parts of four seasons in the Twins organization, leading the '01 Class A Fort Myers club with 10 home runs and playing at Class AA New Britain. He aslo has been in the Rangers, Brewers and Red organizations. Gulledge was a 2-time Northern League All-Star for the Fargo-Moorehead Redhawks and in 2007 was an American Association All-Star for the Fort Worth Cats, leading the Cats in home runs and being named Baseball America's All-Independent team catcher for the 3rd time. Kelley has extensive knowledge of weight training, physical conditioning and the catching position with special drills for both hitting and catching. He resides in Arlington and has signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2008 seaosn.

Daniel Barr
|
Daniel Barr is in his secondt season of coaching and lessons with Cover All Bases. He has been part of this facility as a player or coach for the past 7 years and has a tremendous attitude for teaching the game. Daniel was a three year letterman at Arlington Lamar High School and was named Sophmore of the year in his District. Coach Barr currently holds the AISD record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched at 13 innings, in which he threw two straight shutouts. Daniel played for the Dallas Tigers for 5 years winning 4 National AABC Titles. Daniel is attending New Haven University he is playing baseball and majoring in Physical Therapy. Daniel will be gone for the Fall and Winter but will be back late next Spring to do lessons.
